An academic promotion was provided to Dr. Fatima Jaafer Muhammad to assistant professor and another academic promotion was provided to assistant lecturer Shatha Reyahd Ahmed to lecturer in February 3^rd 2021.

The Department of Materials Engineering/ University of Technology conducted sterilization process on Tuesday 02/02/2021 supervised by Assist Prof. Dr. Hussein Alaa Jabber. Some of the department’s employees have sterilized the department labs so that no student or associate is infected with COVID-19.

The president of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Neven Jamal Abdulkader and Eng. Hadeel Ahmed Abbas from Material Engineering Department have been granted a patent.

On Tuesday February 2^nd, Assist. Prof. Dr. Qahtan Adnan Hamad the chair of Biomaterials and Prostheses Branch and Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatima Jaafer as Materials Eng. Department representers held a meeting with Ibn Alkuf Hospital team headed by Dr. Dheyaa Kadhim Alquraishy and Technician Salih Mahood at the hospital, in order to start a new collaboration between them. This is a new step in developing and supporting academic and laboratory work for both faculty and students.
