The Department of Materials Engineering organized a scientific lecture titled "Materials Engineering Tests and Avoiding sudden failure and collapse of materials." The lecture took place on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM in Room 6, Building B courtyard.

The lecture has presented by lecture Hashem Shareef Ni'ma, with present the Head of the Department, Dr. Jawad Kazem Aliwi, and several students of the department.

The lecture targeted fourth stage students on purpose of providing a clear view­­ about opportunities of   specializing in the field of engineering tests and obtaining scientific examination levels (Levels 1, 2, and 3), as well as training in welding inspections for a post-graduation students.

Furthermore, the lecture illustrates the collaboration with various government institutions for training both students and graduates.

At the end of the lecture, the Head of the Department praised the lecturer's outstanding efforts and honored him with a certificate of appreciation.

A doctoral candidate from the Materials Engineering Department qualified for the final stage of the thesis competition in three minutes

The doctoral candidate, Nour Ibrahim Ali Jan, from the Department of Materials Engineering, qualified for the Three Minutes Thesis Competition, which concluded on Wednesday, 3/27/2024, where it witnessed wide participation and intense competition among thirty contestants from all university departments, and after continuous efforts, 9 contestants qualified for the stage. Among the finalists is doctoral student Nour Ibrahim, who will have the opportunity to present her thesis

"Fabrication and Characterization of Hybrid Composite Tissue Engineering Scaffold For Bone Growth by Electrospinning"

The main target of this dissertation is remediation of osteoporosis satisfactory، which results from many reasons (e.g. Aging, smoking, heredity...). More than two types of bio-polymers were mixed, in-order to produce scaffold which improves bone growth factor without negative side effects.

The Department of Materials Engineering held a course entitled: "Work mechanism and how to calculate bonuses and promotions"

This was on Sunday, 3/25/2024, at nine o’clock in the morning in the Graduate Studies Hall/Building B, where lectured by the Administrative Assistant, Asst.Prof .Dr. Laith Waddah Ismail and Mrs. M.R. Specialists Shaima Youssef Jumaa, and Chief Engineers Hasna Fawzi Hassan, in the presence of the head of the department, The respectables Prof. Dr.  Jawad Kadhum Aliwi and the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr.Kadhum Matar Shabib and a number of the department’s teachers and employees. The course included the concept of the basic rules for calculating bonuses and promotions and what are the points that speed them up or delay them.

At the end of the lecture, the head of the department praised the distinguished efforts made by the lecturers and presented them with certificates of appreciation.

Under the sponsorship of the Honorable President of the University of Technology, Pro. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghaban, and under the supervision of the Head of the Materials Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Jawad Kadhim Olaiwi, the eleventh cultural season for the academic year 2023-2024 has been settled.

 After distributing certificates of appreciation to members of the Cultural Season Committee and in the presence of the Scientific Assistant, Prof. Dr. Kazem Matar Shabib and Administrative Assistant Assist. Prof .Dr. Laith Waddah Ismail and Director of the Internal Department Affairs Department, Assist. Prof .Dr. Muhannad Najah Jawad, the Head of the Materials Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Jawad Kadhim Olaiwi presented cultural season shield to the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban for his unlimited support and sponsorship of all scientific, cultural and entertainment events on Sunday, 17/3/2024.
