Scientific Seminars

Written by

On 10/1/2018 2018 a seminar presented by Asst.Prof Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Hussein Mohamed Faculty staff at the Materials Engineering Department / University of Technology to participate in the TMREES Conference Series, to be held in early February in Beirut, Lebanon. (The use of the bubble column reactor and the CFD simulation for the polyethylene recycling of polyethylene terephthalate)  was discussed. The research dealt with the use of the bubble column reactor and the natalite catalysis technology in the dismantling of polymerization of plastic water bottles and the production of polyethylene terephthalate monomer and its use in improving asphalt as a coating of concrete to increase mechanical and thermal resistance and cohesion Reduce water absorption.

On 22/1/2018 a Seminar was presented by Wafa Mahdi Saleh Teaching at the Materials Engineering Department / University of Technology Semner Scientific in order to participate in the scientific conference marked: (TMRESS Confrence Series) to be held in early February in Beirut - Lebanon. The study dealt with the effect of some mechanical properties of an overlapping material (polyester supported by various natural fibers - palm fiber, natural fiber, cecil plant and cannabis plant) and then treated I am chemically treated with NaOH by 10% and then comparing the results to the overlapping material with and without the chemical treatment of the fiber.

Master Thesis

Written by

On 25/1/2018, the graduate student (master) Sara Abdel-Salam Hattab had discussed her thesis:(Polymer coating connector to reduce the risk of corrosion)The discussion committee consisted of the listed gentlemen

  1. Asst.Prof.Emad Saadi Abdulkareem  University of technology\Department of Materials Engineering  Head of committee
  2. Asst.Prof. Bissam Ibrahim Khalil  University of technology\Department of Materials Engineering. Member
  3. Dr. Hussein Mohammed Yosef Ministry of Industry and Metals \ Member
  4. Prof. Rana Afif Anani University of technology\Department of Materials Engineering Supervisor
  5. Asst.Prof. Waf’a Mahdi Saleh University of technology\Department of Materials Engineering Supervisor

The thesis addressed the possibility of using both the inhibitors with the coating to obtain a thin and homogeneous coating layer of the non-pyrolymol polymer and with the amalgamation of organic and inorganic amines on carbon steel (St 44-2-DIN 17100) by electrochemical polymerization of the pyrolymol monomer and the possibility of improving corrosion resistance in the water medium Saline (3.5% sodium chloride) at different temperatures (293, 303, 313, 323 and 333)Kelvin. was studied, the structure and morphology of polymerized pyrolyle strata was studied using electron microscopy (SEM), AFM, FTIR spectroscopy and adhesion examination.
Scanning electron microscopy images showed the structure and morphology of the polypearol layer deposited on carbon steel. In general, the distribution of pyrolytes and saplings covers the surface on a regular basis. The variation of surface morphology is due to the composition of the cauliflower. While the images of the atomic force microscope showed the best growth of polypirol fibers, the morphology and roughness of the surface were also estimated from the atomic force microscope examination. Polysaccharides in organic anions cause little change in surface morphology. The polysaccharide polycrystalline polysaccharide is indicated

he results obtained from this study were shown by different corrosion-labeling techniques for carbon steels indicating the proposed insoluble polyol polyol for use as a conductive polymer and for optimal protection against erosion in seawater (3.5% NaCl solution). Prompt in industrial application, environmentally friendly and chemically stable
The thesis was evaluated scientifically by Prof. Dr.Awda Jabbar Breehi / University of Babylon / Faculty of Engineering and linguistics by AMD. Samir Ali Amin / University of Technology / Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The discussion was held at the Graduate Hall / Building C and the discussion committee was granted a Master's degree for the student.

Master Thesis

On 24/1/2018  the graduate student (Masters) Russul Salah Hadi discussed entitled her thesis entitled:

(Use of auxiliary materials in the chemical recycling of waste water bottles and their use in industrial applications)

The discussion committee consisted of the listed gentlemen

  1. Asst.Prof. Kadhem Mutter Shebeb  Univesity of technology\Department of Materials Engineering  Head of committee
  2. Asst.Prof, Saad Hanash Ammar University of Nahrain   College of engineering. Member
  3. Asst.Prof. Mohammed Ramaid Gharkan Univesity of technology\Department of Materials Engineering Member
  4. Asst.Prof. Bissam Ibrahim Khalil Univesity of technology\Department of Materials Engineering Supervisor
  5. Asst.Prof. Kadhem Mohamed Abdul Hussein Univesity of technology\Department of Materials Engineering Supervisor

The study examined how mono meres were manufactured by recycling plastic water bottles using auxiliary materials using zinc oxide in two types (94.55) and with different weights (0.5,0.25,0.15 g) and using two types of nano-magnesium oxide and effective thinner with different weight ratios The use of a closed glass system at 190 ° C and the study of the effect of the ratio of the catalyst, the reaction time and the yield of the resulting material, and the analysis of the elements (carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen) ,The results showed that zinc oxide (55) was more productive and effective than the zinc oxide nanotubes (94) due to the large surface area of the nanotube zinc oxide (55) and reduced the reaction time to one hour instead of (7) hours and without the use of auxiliary materials using a simple closed system and economic costs

The thesis was evaluated scientifically by Prof.D.Kazem Kamel Rassen / University of Mustansiriya / Faculty of Engineering and linguistics by Prof. Dr. Akhtar Khallakal Hussein / University of Technology / Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The discussion was held at the Graduate Hall / Building C and the discussion committee was granted a Master's degree for the student.

Scientific seminars

On 8/1/2018, a group of teachers of the Materials Engineering Department / University of Technology has been working on scientific research to participate in the Tmress Confrence Series, to be held in early February in Beirut, Lebanon. The title of the first research presented by Asst.Prof.Dr. Ala’a Alla al-Din (Characteristics of Thin Films of SnO2 Deposited by Thermal Chemical Spraying Using Different Salt Solutions). In this Paper, the thermal chemical spraying method was used with one atomizer and two nozzle (SN, DN). The thin tin oxide membranes were formed in different structures. The tin oxide membranes were prepared at a concentration of 0.005M and their thickness was about 0.2 - 0.002 μm. Microscopic examination of the membranes, in addition to optical transparency and to the contact angle. The results showed that the membranes were crystallized with a four-angular structure with tiny micro-structures from plates to columns and clusters resembling cast.

The second research presented by Asst.Prof.Assel Basem  (Natural fiber recycling and use in green cement mortar) to the process of manufacturing environmentally friendly cement mortar consisting of natural waste (coconut fiber, banana fiber, papyrus fiber, and palm fiber). Various additives (0 - 0.25 - 0.50-0.75-1 g) Natural waste (plant fiber) was the partial replacement of cement, mechanical properties and thermal conductivity. It was found that the increase of additives from natural waste increases the strength of the pressure and the hardness of cement mortar and the lack of thermal conductivity properties and water absorption. a To take advantage of these wastes and recycling instead of burning them.
