Prof.  Ali Husayn Otaiwi at Materials Engineering Department got a patent in “Protection of Raw Materials Mills Martensitic Cast Irons Liners, Used in Cement Factories, from Wet Erosion by using Heat Treatment”

Number of patent is 6064, 12/24/2019, Cosqc.IQ. The patent included some heat treatments at different temperatures in order to improve some mechanical properties of high chromium white cast iron.

A workshop about curriculum system was held on Tuesday 1/28/2010 at 10:00 AM at the conference room C/ Materials Engineering Department/University of Technology. The lecturer Haider Basel Ali gave a presentation mentioning how the curriculum system works and the aims of using it in academic teaching. The roles of academic stuff and faculty as well as students were also discussed. 

Dr. Sura Salem Ahmad at Materials Engineering Department/ University of Technology 

 participated in a Digital Imaging Processing with Matlab training course at Continuous Education Center on 5-9/1/2020. The course mentioned how to improve images by transforming them into digital ones focusing on color contrast, clarity and how to localize bio- images for accuracy.

A committee in energy study province was constituted by the department chair “assistant professor Husayn Alaa Jaber” in January 9^th 2020, the members are Dr. Muhannad Najah Jawad as a chair, Dr. Sura Salem Ahmad with Dr. Laith Wadah Ismaeel and Eng. Ali Amer Hameed as members.

An academic meeting was held at Materials Engineering Department presided by the department chair “assistant professor Husayn Alaa Jaber” on Sunday 1/19/2012. Many important academic issues were discussed in the meeting.
