A general assembly meeting
A general assembly meeting was held remotely for the Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology on Thursday 6/6/2020 at 6 p.m. on the Meet platform, where ministerial and university orders for the initial study were explained and clarified, the mechanism of preliminary study exams, and the role implementation mechanism Supplementary - second attempt for the academic year 2019-2018. The specific times for the completion of the graduation projects for the fourth stage students and the way to deal with the laboratory material were also discussed, and it was agreed to conduct experimental exams for the students of the initial study to train them in the electronic examination mechanism. The meeting included several interventions from several teachers to discuss the points mentioned above.
Series of meetings on the Google meet platform
In the Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology held a series of meetings on the Google meet platform for the period 7-12 / 6/2020 to prepare for the conduct of electronic exams for graduate students. Where, during the department’s council meetings, an appropriate mechanism was established for conducting electronic exams, and it was clarified for the teachers and students through a group of meetings. Students were trained several times to perform electronic exams by conducting experimental exams for them. Now the department and the examination committee for postgraduate studies and students are ready to take the exams on time next week, God willing.
With our best wishes to the students, all the best ..

Abstract
A medical therapeutic polymeric film to form a new skin made with the addition of iodine to the natural chitosan polymer. In this work, I2 was used in preparing medical polymeric films to treat wounds and help heal them, as iodine vapor reaches all parts of the wound, treats it, and helps in its healing. Iodine was loaded onto biopolymer films made of chitosan polymer by one weight (14%) in two ways, the coating method and the composite method. The cost of production medical biopolymeric film consisting of chitosan and iodine, with a weight of 32.0 g, a thickness of 125 microns, and a diameter of 8 cm was 150 Iraqi dinars (0.125 cents)

Dr. Qahtan Adnan Hamad discussed the student remotely via Skype.
Abstract
This study focuses mainly on preparation the honeycomb laminate structure as composite material and studies the effect of cell shape of core, core material and number of skin layers on some mechanical and morphological tests (flexural, impact, hardness and SEM). The materials that are used in this study are epoxy, sic, glass fiber and graphite. Also the Ansys program are used in this study which appear good agreement between the experimental and numerical results.
The discussion was conducted in a scientific atmosphere, and the student was awarded a MSc. degree with a (Pass ) grade after completing all the modifications that were made by the discussants

Abstract
Asymmetric ultrafiltration flat sheet membranes were prepared by phase inversion method to produce new hydrophilic membranes from hydrophobic PVC by partially dehydrochlorination process with NaOH solution (1, 3, 5) molarity then grafting copolymerization with acrylamide via grafting-from method. The efficient grafting was at graft 3M membrane as proved by PWF and other related characterization of membranes, also the graft 3M membranes with 3 wt.%PVP and 1wt% TiO2 display the efficient values
The discussion was conducted in a scientific atmosphere, and the student was awarded a Ph.D. degree with a (Pass ) grade after completing all the modifications that were made by the discussants.

Asst.Prof.Dr Akram Rahim Jabr, a Facilty Member , in the Department of Materials Engineering / University of Technology,Had Published by his Paper titled "Sulfonatedelectrospunpolystyreneascationexchangemembranes forfuelcells"
In Elsevir 's Energy Reports Magazine, Issue 6, 2020, is a Clarvette with an impact factor of 3.83 and serial number 5.47
Abstract
Fuel cells are one of important renewable energy sources represent scientific trends of contemporary researches that seek to find better alternatives to solve the negatives of organic fuels and biological damage to humans, environment and atmosphere. The most vital part in hydrogen fuel cells is the cation exchange membranes whose special and critical role. Cation exchange membranes have been prepared and characterized using expanded polystyrene (PS) from waste packaging. The electrospun PS membranes were chemically modified by sulfonation reacti PS membranes were immersed in (20%) diluted sulfuric acid (H2SO4), Sulfonating reaction successfulness was demonstrated by FTIR investigations.SEM and EDS were used to detect the sulfonating and desulfonating reactions regarding the sulfonating time. Ion-exchange capacity (IEC) and the proton conductivity were reported and discussed with respect to different sulfonation time. IEC increased with increasing the sulfonation time. Obtained results showed that the membrane. The proton conductivities of electrospun membranes increased with increasing sulfonation time. Maximum proton conductivity was increase
