To coincide with the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (S) and the birth of his grandson Imam Jafar Sadiq (peace be upon them). Al-Yassin mosque, representation of religious authority, established the annual minds festival (Fourteenth) to honor the outstanding students for the academic year (2018-2019). The conference was attended by the President of the University and the heads of scientific and engineering departments as well as the top students (first and second) for each stage in the University of Technology's departments, including materials engineering department.

This festival involved a speech by the President of the University of Technology, in which he congratulated the university outstanding students and assured them the righteousness of the parents and continuing effort and hard-working for higher ranks and to participate in the development of our beloved country (Iraq).

Also, in some students' speech, they praised the role of their parents and teachers and their virtue to what arrived today from science and quality.  Moreover, the festival included other activities such as reading Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs and lecture delivered by Sheikh Hussein Al Yassin on the ears of the audience.
