Participation of a teacher in the discussion of a PhD student

Participation of a teacher from the Department of Materials Engineering in the discussion of a PhD studentShare Asst. Proff. Dr.. Ahmed Ameed Zain Al-Abideen, from the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Technology, discussing the PhD student, Roaa Hatem Kazem, from the University of Babylon / College of Materials Engineering, about her titled thesis. "Transient Liquid Phase Bonding of Ni-based Super alloys"Where the discussion took place on Wednesday, 12/8/2021,And the discussion committee consisted of:1. Prof. Dr.  Abdel Rahim Kazem Abdel Ali, (Chairman)2. Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdul-Hussein Iklah (member)3. Assist. Prof. Dr.Abdul Rahman Najm Abdul (member)4. Assist. Prof. Dr.Ahmed Ameed Zain El Abideen (member)5. Assist. Prof. Abdul Samie Jassim (Member)6. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Odeh Jassem, (supervisor and member)7. Assist. Prof. Dr.. Hamid Kavous Omidvar (supervisor and member)

 Abstract

The thesis aim to study the brazing using transient liquid phase technique (TLP) traditional and two steps to join Ni-based super alloys types (IN738LC, IN939) then comparing between similar IN738LC, Similar IN939 and dissimilar IN738LC/IN939. The connection done using 70um foil of BNi-2 filler in vacuum environment. A successful joining efficiency and homogenous microstructure for all types

After the discussion, the committee recorded its notes on the thesis, which were split between explanation and correction, and the student’s defense of his work and the discussion ended. The committee decided to evaluate the thesis and grant the student a science master’s degree in materials engineering with a full grade.
